Your Partner in Health

Osteopathic Medicine is one of the fastest growing health care professions in the U.S. with 1 out of every 4 medical students enrolled in an Osteopathic Medical School.

DOs complete the same rigorous education and training as MDs, but they receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system, the body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles, and bones.

Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, DOs are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well. They believe there’s more to good health than the absence of pain or disease.

With a strong focus on preventative care, DOs tune into how a patient’s lifestyle and environment can impact their well-being. They strive to help their patients be truly healthy in mind, body, and spirit - not just free of symptoms.

They practice according to the latest science and technology, but also consider holistic options to complement pharmaceuticals and surgery. By combining their skills with the latest advancements in medicine, DOs offer their patients the most comprehensive care available in health care today.

DOs practice medicine differently. They don’t see patients. they see people.

OMT Hands-on Care

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, or OMT, is a series of hands-on techniques used to help diagnose illness or injury and facilitate your body’s natural tendency towards self-healing.

OMT is performed by Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs), fully licensed physicians who practice their distinct whole-person philosophy in all areas of medicine.

Using OMT, your DO can effectively treat your muscles and joints to relieve pain, promote healing, and increase mobility. OMT is set apart from chiropractic and physical therapy techniques in many ways. OMT can be used to complement or replace medication and surgery.
